Due to being a tanorexic in my teens, my skin is dry, blemished and scaly now I’m in my 40s. What’s the best skincare routine to follow to help improve it and would you recommend any treatments?

‘As your skin has been damaged from years of tanning, the best thing to do is to start exfoliating skin twice a week and hydrating it with a suitable moisturiser. As a home treatment to treat your blemishes and quench the skin, use a hydrating mask like Shu Uemura Whitening Mask . This will help even out skin tone (even those with darker skins can use it!) and make your complexion more clear and brighter.’

Clinique 3-step program. Visit macys or nordstrom…a clinique rep can help you with which 3-step program you should follow. They also teach you the correct way to use the products. This program is a little pricey but worth it in the end. Before you buy anything though, you should ask for a few samples so that you can test out the product and see what a difference it begans to make within the next few days. That way you can see if its worth your money to invest in.

I guess the best thing is to use more natural stuff since the skin is already blemished and scaly…you dont want to apply any more "chemicals" to it. Start with some natural exfoliants like paste of almonds and milk…..then wash it with all organic facewashes which contains awapuhi or green tea extracts. Then use toner (nivea has a nice one) cucumber water or rose water is good. Then moisturize with water based (if your skin is oily) or mild oil based (if you have dry skin) moisturizer…..Jason brand has all natural moisturizers. (Jason 98% Aloe Vera Gel Moisturizer 8 oz). Dont expect immediate results it will take a while for your skin to improve. But natural stuff are always good for skin.
