What are your skincare secrets?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: skincare treatments

I was just wondering if anyone has any skincare secrets they use to keep their skin fresh and blemish free. I have blemish prone skin and I have spent WAY too much money trying to find something that works for my skin. I have tried accutane ([erscribed by my dermatologist, Proactive, and many over the counter acne treatments and none of them have given me the results that I want. So, please share your skincare secrets with me :)

Cleaning your skin is a must! You also need to protect it. 80 percent of aging is caused by the environment and free radicals.
Your skin is on a 21 day cycle so don’t expect immediate results after starting a new regimen, wait 3 weeks before deciding it doesn’t work. Okay…
Cleanse, Repair and Moisturize… Yes moisturize. All skin types need moisture.
For acne prone skin I’d recommend Clinique or Prescriptives.
For a cleanser, try something that has salicylic acid in it. Clinique is best for this. For a repair product, you can choose Prescriptives acne serum or Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair (which might I say will solve almost any skin care problem) As for moisturizer, I’ve found Estee Lauder’s oily formula to be the best.
Exfoliation is also a must. For that try a gentle one such as Clinique 7 day scrub.
*Of course you can find similar products in drug stores, I am just not familiar with any of them. The key ingredient is salicylic acid in the cleanser and hyaluronic acid in the repair and/or moisturizer.

I know this is a lot to throw out there but acne prone skin is the most difficult to treat. It depends greatly on if your skin is dry and irritated or just extremely oily.
